The Cash Dojo
branding, community
The Cash Dojo is a community for entrepreneurs seeking financial growth through a minimalist, disciplined approach inspired by the founder's unique business philosophy. When they approached me for branding, the goal was to create a bold yet spartan visual identity that embodied their principles of taking offense, focusing on fundamentals, and taking relentless action — represented by the mantra "Likes Ain't Cash."

Process
From the start, I was drawn to the community's near-spiritual commitment to business growth, not unlike the dedication of martial arts. This inspired me to infuse subtle east-Asian aesthetic influences, like the square window panes, mats, and wooden floors often seen in traditional dojos. Their strict layouts was key to creating a solid and versatile look.
However, it should never feel gimmicky. The visuals needed to stay refined and focused, just like the no-frills entrepreneurial mindset of the community.
And so I took the style of the brand into a minimalist direction. Solid shapes, few colors, no random ornaments. Bold and serious, but packing a lot of power.
I used the concept of belt colors from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (a big inspiration for the founder’s philosophy) to represent member stages — white for beginners, blue for builders, purple for well-established businesses. This color-based language allows the community to visually organize its content and spaces. It’s simple for a member to understand if this content is relevant to them.
And the abstract yet recognizable black belt became the logo of The Cash Dojo. The ultimate goal and proof of mastery in martial arts serves as a bonding inspiration for the Dojo members.
