ShopWheels.ca is an ecommerce store specializing in tires, wheels, and car accessories. As a newcomer in a rather saturated market, they needed a logo that would help them stand out while establishing professionalism, trustworthiness, and reliability of the brand —crucial qualities for a business dealing with essential and expensive automotive components.

Process

A typical representation of a wheel or tire wouldn’t cut it — plainly showing either would look like a clipart.

Giving it a modern minimalist look would only give you a dull unrecognizable circle.

So I dove into exploring unconventional ways to depict a wheel. I sketched and, no spun the concept (no pun intended) in all directions, looking for an intriguing yet professional perspective that would set the brand apart. After numerous iterations, I landed on a dynamic solution that showcased the iconic tire tread pattern from a dramatic, almost three-dimensional angle.

Outcome

The final logo design features a bold, angular interpretation of a tire tread pattern, with alternating dark and light segments creating a sense of depth and movement. The complementing wordmark seamlessly integrates with the logo, echoing the alternating pattern and reinforcing the brand's identity.

The result is a versatile and memorable logo that communicates ShopWheels.ca's expertise and dependability. By approaching a familiar symbol from a new angle, the logo gives basis to a solid identity that enables the brand to confidently roll out (pun intended) its products in a competitive market.
